My First Day at a New School

Last September, I started at a new school. My family just moved to a new city, so I did not know anyone there. I felt very nervous on my first day.

When I arrived, a teacher was standing at the school gate. She was smiling at all the new students. She showed me to my classroom and introduced me to the class. Everyone was looking at me, and I could feel my face turning red.

During the first lesson, the teacher was explaining a Math problem when I raised my hand to ask a question. I was surprised because nobody laughed at me. A boy named Khoi was sitting next to me. He was friendlier than I expected, and he offered to show me around the school at lunchtime.

At lunch, Khoi introduced me to his friends. We talked about football and video games. I realized that this school was not as scary as I thought. The students here were nicer than the ones at my old school.

By the end of the day, I was feeling much more relaxed. I could already imagine making many new friends. Starting a new school was difficult, but it was also an exciting new chapter in my life.
