I Can Swim Now!

My name is Hoa. I am eight years old. I live in Đà Nẵng, a city near the sea.

Last summer, I was afraid of the water. I didn't go into the sea. I only sat on the sand and watched my friends.

Now I go to a swimming class every Tuesday and Thursday. My teacher is Mr. Tuấn. He is tall and strong, and he is very friendly. He always stays next to me in the pool.

First, I learn to put my face in the water. Then I learn to kick my legs. It is not easy. Sometimes I drink some water, and I cough! But I don't give up.

Now I can swim ten meters without help. I am very proud of myself. My mom says, "Great job, Hoa!"

This weekend, my family is going to the beach. I am excited because I can swim in the sea with my friends!
