Every year, my school has a football tournament for all the grade six classes. Last year, my class, 6A, played against 6C in the final. Everyone said 6C was the strongest team in the school. Their players were taller and faster than us, and they won every game before the final.
Our coach, Mr. Đức, wasn't worried. "You don't have to be the biggest team," he told us. "You must play together and help each other."
For two weeks, we practiced every afternoon after school. We practiced passing the ball, and we learned to talk to each other on the field.
On the day of the final, it was very hot. Our classmates were sitting around the field, holding signs and shouting our names. After ten minutes, 6C scored the first goal. My heart sank.
But we didn't give up. In the second half, I passed the ball to my friend Long, and he kicked it into the net. The score was one to one! The crowd went crazy.
With only two minutes left, the ball came to me in front of the goal. I was very nervous, but I kicked as hard as I could. The goalkeeper jumped, but the ball flew past him. Goal!
We won two to one. We weren't the strongest team, but we were the best team that day because we worked together.
