A Weekend Trip with My Family

Two weeks ago, my family took a short trip to the countryside. My father said we should leave home early to avoid the heavy traffic, so we left at six in the morning.

While we were driving, my little sister was singing songs and my mother was reading a map on her phone. The road was quieter than the busy streets in the city, and the air felt fresher.

We arrived at my uncle's farm at nine o'clock. It was much bigger than I imagined. There were chickens, ducks, and even a small pond with fish. My sister was so excited that she ran straight to see the animals.

In the afternoon, my uncle asked if we could help him pick vegetables in the garden. We picked tomatoes and cucumbers while he was telling us funny stories about his childhood. My father said farm life looked more peaceful than city life.

In the evening, we cooked dinner together using the vegetables we picked earlier. Everyone agreed that homegrown vegetables tasted better than the ones from the supermarket.

We could not stay for the whole weekend because of school on Monday, but it was still a wonderful trip for our whole family.
