Liên từ kết hợp - FANBOYS (Coordinating Conjunctions)

Bảy liên từ dùng để nối hai mệnh đề độc lập ngang hàng nhau: for, and, nor, but, or, yet, so.

🧩 Cấu trúc

Mệnh đề độc lập 1 + dấu phẩy + for/and/nor/but/or/yet/so + mệnh đề độc lập 2

Ghi nhớ bằng chữ cái đầu: For, And, Nor, But, Or, Yet, So

💡 Cách dùng

  • "And" nối các ý bổ sung cùng chiều: I like tea, and I like coffee too.
  • "But/yet" nối các ý đối lập: She is tired, but she keeps working.
  • "So" diễn tả kết quả: It was raining, so we stayed home.
  • "Or" đưa ra lựa chọn, "nor" nối hai ý phủ định: He doesn't smoke, nor does he drink.
  • Khi nối hai mệnh đề độc lập bằng FANBOYS, thường có dấu phẩy đứng trước liên từ.

I wanted to go for a walk, but it started raining.

She studied hard, so she passed the exam.

He doesn't like meat, nor does he like fish.
